About

Beliefs and Mission

AS A CHRIST-FOLLOWING COMMUNITY...

  • We believe in a loving, communal, Triune (three in one) God--God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe God the Father created a perfect world for the glory of His Son, but when he created man with free will, man chose his own will over God's and severed the perfect relationship with the Father.
  • We believe in the mercy of God's saving plan. God came into our world as a humble baby, becoming a man to restore our relationship with Him. Through his death on a cross and resurrection from the dead, we have eternal life. It is by God's grace and his grace alone that we are made whole again.
  • We believe in God's Spirit--the Counselor God gives us so we can have faith in him. His Spirit gives us strength to grow in our personal relationship with God.
  • We believe in a loving, communal, Christian Church that reflects the community of the Triune God. When Jesus went back to heaven after his resurrection, he established a body of people on earth to carry out His mission - to love God and people, and to make Christ-followers of all nations to the glory of God's Son, Jesus.
  • We believe the Bible is the tool which God uses to reveal his character, the world, and the ways we can grow in a life-changing relationship with Him.
  • AS A LUTHERAN COMMUNITY...

    We believe in the Triune God as revealed in the Bible and expressed in the three statements of belief of the whole Christian Church: The Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds. We also believe that the Lutheran Confessions as found in the Book of Concord are a true explanation of what the Bible teaches. For a more in-depth look at what we believe, visit the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod's web site www.lcms.org and look under Beliefs and Practices or Frequently Asked Questions.

    OUR VISION...

    To be a mission center helping outsider pre-Christians become insider Christ-followers who grow into a life of full devotion to Christ whatever it takes.

    OUR STRATEGY...

    "For God So Loved the world..." John 3:16. We challenge every person to seek four journeys:

    1. The Journey to Faith

    2. The Journey to Grow

    3. The Journey to Serve

    4. The Journey to Love

    OUR VALUES...

  • Our Focus is Outward. Lost people matter to God and must be our #1 priority. Buildings, structures, traditions are not the main thing; they serve the main thing. {Witnessing}
  • Our Guide is God's Spirit and Word. The Bible is God's inspired Word. We are to read, study, apply and communicate his Word with doctrinal purity and cultural relevance. {Spiritual Maturity}
  • Our Power is Prayer. Prayer brings God's power to bear upon the direction and progress of our lives and church. {Prayer}
  • Our Method is Small Groups. Authentic and loving relationships through small groups are God's strategy for building healthy Christians and a healthy church. {Community}
  • Our Passion is Worship. Worship is an essential expression of our faith. It should honor God and so engage the hearts of people that they feel compelled to invite their friends. {Worship}
  • Our Attitude is Generosity. God has called every Christian to generously use his/her Shape and first-fruit income for ministry. {Generosity}
  • Our Motive is Love. We are called to be living demonstrations of Christ's love. We do this by helping the poor, sick, hurting, lonely and forgotten people of the world, and by exhibiting unity and sensitivity in our togetherness. {Compassion}
  • Our Future is Children and and Teens. The Christian education of children and teens is strategic in reaching our community for Christ, and it is an excellent entry point into our church. {Education}
  • Our Standard is Excellence. Excellence honors God and inspires people. God deserves nothing less from us. {Excellence}
  • Our Path is Trained Leadership. We need a path for spiritual formation, maturity and leadership training so clear and excellent that people enthusiastically stream toward personal growth. Staff are positioned to lead, and members are positioned to do ministry. {Leadership}
